Pourquoi le mot russe ма́ма a un accent alors que la plupart du temps il n'y en a pas? Est-ce que cet accent a une utilité?

En russe il n'y a pas d'accents. Le mot мама n'a pas d'accent. Dans les livres pour les élèves étrangers il y a parfois des accents parce que c'est plus facile d'apprendre à lire de cette façon.
