Question
Hi, I'm just starting learning Russian. What is the best way to do it? What activities would you recommend to achieve a good level as soon as possilbe?
Thank you.
Answer
Hello! First of all, I would recommend having regular lessons (at least 2-3 times a week) with a professional teacher. Russian grammar is quite tricky, so it would be better if you could have tutor's support from the beginning.
The second advice is to study by yourself at least 30 minutes a day. Learn new grammar rules, new vocabulary, listen to the radio or to Russian songs on YouTube, You can even download some apps for learning Russian and do the quizzes in public transport, for example.
If you want to achieve the B1 level, you have to study Russian intensively at least one year.
I would also recommend you some good books: "Поехали", "Точка.ру", "Русский сувенир", "A Living Russian Grammar", "Мои первые строки по-русски", "Survival Russian".
If you want to have regular lessons with an experienced teacher online, you can contact us.
