Question
how to read latin alphabets in russian texts? for example chemical symbols or chord names in music? Do I read them according to their English pronunciations?
Answer
Hi weikangcai,
We normally read them according to our sounds. For example, the letter "S" would sound as "С" in Russian. But we also translate all the names of important institutions into Russian. For instance, UN is ООН in the Russian language, NATO is НАТО, etc.
