I took the Russian cases 15-question test and the 2nd question there was:
Which are the exceptions used with the ending у in the Prepositional case? Find the correct line.
The options were:
A. школа, ящик, книга, угол, стул
B. аэропорт, шкаф, пол, сад, мост
Why was угол in the first group? Isn't it "в углу/на углу"?

Hello! You had to find the correct line. The correct line is the second one because all the nouns end in у in the Prepositional case, while in the first line only угол ends in у, the other nouns end in е.
