July 24, 2021 | Tags: Russian adverbs

Do you know the difference between Russian adverbs нигде and негде? Both of them can be translated as “nowhere”, but the latter has an additional meaning “there is no space for something/someone”. They can be used in the same utterances but will give them different meanings.

For example,

Я нигде не работаю. I don’t work.

Мне негде работать. There is no place for me to work.
