Asking for Permission in Russian

Did you know that we use the impersonal construction можно+ noun in the Dative case+perfective verb (не+imperfective verb) to ask for permission?

For example,

Можно мне выйти? May I go out?

Можно ему завтра не приходить? May he not come tomorrow?
