Did you know that there are many different ways of saying “in addition” or “moreover” in Russian? You can use кроме этого (того) and помимо этого, which are more formal, and к тому же, which is more used in everyday speech.
For example,
Кроме этого, мы хотели бы отметить важность мероприятия. In addition, we would like to mention the importance of the event.
Помимо этого, он занимается бизнесом. In addition, he has his own business.
