Did you know that we never use the verb брать-взять with the noun лекарство (medicine)? The verb which is used is rather принимать-принять лекарство or пить-выпить лекарство.
For example,
Мой дядя принимает много лекарств. My uncle takes lots of medicines.
Ты выпил таблетку? Have you taken the pill?
