Use of давай and давайте

Did you know that the words давай and давайте can be used with a perfective verb in 2nd person plural (meaning a finished action) or with an imperfective infinitive (meaning a process)?

For example,

Давайте прочитаем этот текст. Let’s read this text (till the end).

Давайте читать этот текст. Let’s read this text (action in general, start reading it).
