Using present tense to talk about future in Russian

Did you know that you can use present tense to talk about future in Russian?

You can use present tense when:

1. you are talking about something you have planned

Завтра мы едем на экскурсию в заповедник. Tomorrow we are going on an excursion to the reserve.

2.  you are mandating something

В понедельник ты берёшь и дописываешь работу! On Monday you finish the work!
