Ancient Russia

Julia Sutuginiene was preparing me for passing TORFL-3 examination. At the beginning of our studies my knowledge of Russian language was about TORFL-2 level.

As I took Russian lessons from different teachers I am confident to say that Julia Sutuginiene is one of the best teachers. I can state that I have a considerable progress in Russian and I have made a great step on the way of improving this language.

To my mind the main factor of this progress is because Julia is a very gifted teacher and she uses special methods of teaching. She is strict and she doesn’t give an opportunity for the pupils to waste their time in vain, every minute of her lesson is clearly planned and prepared beforehand, the plan of each lesson is thoroughly done and thought out.

My program was constantly corrected according to my demands and also taking into consideration the level of my understanding of the material. This fact confirms the high level of the teacher’s qualification. Julia never forgets what was done during the lessons, what is the planning for the next lesson, and she constantly checks up my homework, always uses various kinds of modern literature, a lot of audio materials, interesting video courses as well as her own working ups, and many other techniques.

I highly appreciate Julia’s professional qualities, qualification and pedagogical abilities and I will be glad to confirm my estimation and to give you additional data of her professional qualities in case you need them.

Natalia is a terrific teacher who has helped me a lot to improve my Russian. I studied Russian many years ago and have used it only passively -- reading and translating, but speaking very little and writing almost not at all. That means that my recollection of grammar and retention of vocabulary leave a lot to be desired. Natalia is very good at figuring out what I am trying to say, even when many of the words I use are wrong! She is patient, but also concentrates very well on steering our discussions in a focused way, so that I do not lose sight of the grammatical point we are working on. It has been very helpful to me to have the discipline of a weekly one-hour class, to force myself to work hard and do the homework.

I find Evgenia’s lessons interesting. We approach grammar rules that are new to us in conjunction with new lexical topics and using different materials and angles each time. This way, the lessons stay original and do not become monotonous. The homework helps one to remember the rules and vocabulary seen in the previous lesson, while helping to embark on the next lesson’s topic.
