In Russian language there are special words for the number 1.5 – ‘полтора’ and ‘полторы’. We use the word ‘полтора’ with masculine and neutral words and the word ‘полторы’ with feminine ones. The object that we count is used in the singular form of the genitive case. Just look at the examples we present here.
- Полтора часа = an hour and a half
- Полтора километра = a kilometer and a half
- Полтора года = a year and a half
- Полторы минуты = a minute and a half
- Полторы тысячи = fifteen hundred / one and a half thousand
- Полторы недели = a week and a half
