Russian Particle -то

Did you know that the Russian particle то is always written with a hyphen? One of its functions in the sentence is the emphasised comparison between two people of situations.

Я-то знал, что он нечестный человек, а ты – нет. I knew that he was a dishonest person, but you didn’t.

В Париже-то ты был, а в Версале – нет. Yes, you have been to Paris, but not to Versailles.
