Russian Translation of “to manage to do something”

Did you know that we have two synonyms that mean “to manage to do something”? The first one is удасться and the second one is получиться.

The verb удасться is always used with the Dative case and it is followed by a perfective verb. For example: Мне удалось сделать всю работу за один день. I managed to finish all work in one day.

The verb получиться is always used with the Genitive case and the preposition у. It is also always followed by a perfective verb. У меня получилось написать книгу. I managed to write a book.
