Russian verbs related to the Internet (part 2)

Here are some more verbs from our everyday online routine. Some of them strongly resemble english verbs, you can even try to guess its meaning. Notice that the verbs are still very new and colloquial. Time will tell if they become common. Technologies nowadays develop way faster than our dictionaries.

• ставить – поставить лайк / лайкать – лайкнуть (+Acc.) (colloq.) = to like (e.g. a post)  

Почему никто не поставил лайк под моим последним постом? = Why didn’t anyone like my last post?

• фолловить – зафолловить (+Acc.) = to follow

Я фолловлю этого актёра в Инстаграме, потому что он выкладывает очень смешные видео. = I follow this actor on Instagram because he posts very funny videos.

• подписываться – подписаться на (+Acc.) = to subscribe

Недавно я подписался на этот канал в Ютьюбе и теперь постоянно смотрю на нём видео. = I recently subscribed to this YouTube channel and now I watch videos on it all the time.
