All the soft stem masculine adjectives in the nominative case end in -ний, that is how you can define them from the rest. In fact, the amount of the soft stem adjectives in Russian is quite limited, so it is possible to memorize most of them and decline them accordingly.
The feminine singular soft stem adjectives end in -няя, neuter ones in -нее and the plural forms end in -ние. It is good to remember that the soft stem adjectives always have a stress on the stem.
